Partnering Facilitation

The goal of a Partnering workshop is to create a task-focused, working relationship among team members at the beginning of a project.

MARTIN • FRANKEL ASSOCIATES’ role is to implement a structured process that deals even-handedly with all stakeholders. This helps create-and maintain-an atmosphere that encourages all parties to raise issues, voice concerns, and establish shared goals and outcomes.

The Partnering workshop creates a positive climate for all participants, and fosters a "win-win" attitude that allows the participants to look beyond their individual goals toward the ultimate success of the project.

Partnered Construction Projects
The most widely recognized application for "Partnering" is in the construction industry. Nearly all the complex governmental and private projects which involve a number of stakeholders benefit from the Partnering process: infrastructure, buildings, bridges and highways, etc.

The success of the project depends on the implementation of the commitments made during the meeting, which are captured in the Team Charter. The expected results are on-time, under budget, high-quality projects, as well as a decline in litigation.

Partnering builds:

  • Increased trust and equity in dealings among stakeholders
  • Teamwork to overcome obstacles through problem-solving and decision-making processes
  • Increased communication to promote on time and within budget project completion

Project-Specific Facilitation
The facilitated group process can be the pathway to successful execution of many different programs. The methodology common to the construction industry translates well to other settings where the success-or the implementation of a plan-hinges on the "buy-in" from a number of different stakeholders.

Examples are:
Healthcare providers-where different interests among departments, corporate cultures, and physician groups have to be melded into a successful entity;

Governmental agencies-who work with different departments to implement mandated programs;

And a wide variety of company programs that need to be implemented among cross-functional groups quickly and effectively.
